St Kevin’s and K & S Accordion Band Claim Leinster Titles

St Kevin’s Marching Band, Ferns, celebrated another major success at the Leinster Fleadh after capturing the Junior Miscellaneous Marching Band title in Portlaoise.

Representing Wexford, St Kevin’s overcame strong competition from Dun Na Sí Marching Band of Moate, who qualified through the Westmeath Fleadh. The victory continues an impressive run for the Ferns band, who have become one of the leading names in the junior marching band scene in recent years.

Having first secured qualification through the Wexford Fleadh, St Kevin’s produced a polished display to claim provincial honours and add another Leinster title to their growing collection. The band has enjoyed considerable success at Leinster level in recent seasons, but an All-Ireland title has so far remained elusive.

That will now be the next target as attention turns towards Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast. Having come close on previous occasions, including a runner-up finish at the 2025 All-Ireland Fleadh, St Kevin’s will be hoping this year’s Leinster success can provide the momentum needed to finally capture the national crown.

K & S Continue Winning Tradition

There was further success for the eastern region as Meath’s K & S Accordion Band secured the Junior Accordion Leinster title.

The band arrives at this year’s All-Ireland competition with an outstanding record. K & S were crowned Junior Accordion All-Ireland champions in 2025, while they also enjoyed success in the Senior Accordion section, winning the All-Ireland title in 2023 before finishing as runners-up in 2024.

Their latest Leinster triumph places them in a strong position heading into Belfast, where they will be aiming to add another All-Ireland title to their impressive honours list.

Congratulations to St Kevin’s and K & S Accordion Band on their Leinster victories, and best of luck to both bands as they prepare to represent their counties on the national stage at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
