K & S and St. Catherine’s Ready for Challenge at All-Ireland Fleadh
This weekend’s All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann will once again showcase the best of Irish marching band talent. K & S Accordion Band from Meath will compete in the Junior Accordion section, while St. Catherine’s Band from Killybegs returns to the Senior Accordion category after a landmark win last year.
K & S: Leinster Champions Return to the National Stage
K & S head to Wexford following another strong season, having recently secured the Leinster Junior Accordion title. They have built a reputation for consistency and musical precision over the past several years, both at provincial and national level.
In the Junior Accordion section, they’ve had recent success — winning the All-Ireland Junior title three times in recent years: in 2018, 2019, and again in 2022. Their ability to consistently develop young talent has made them a mainstay of the category.
The band also made a successful move into the Senior category in recent seasons. In 2023, K & S captured the All-Ireland Senior Accordion title, a significant achievement in a competitive field. They followed that with a strong second-place finish in 2024.

St. Catherine’s Set to Defend Senior Title
St. Catherine’s Band from Killybegs made headlines in 2024 when they captured the All-Ireland Senior Accordion title, marking the first time a Donegal band had won the category since 1997. Their win followed success at the Ulster Fleadh and capped off a memorable year that also saw the band travel to New York for the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
They return to this year’s competition as defending champions and will be aiming to deliver another strong performance as they represent both their community and county on the national stage.
