The Letterkenny & District Pipe Band celebrated a landmark moment today (Sunday, July 20, 2025) as they captured their first Ulster title at the Ulster Fleadh in Warrenpoint. The band, featuring a notably youthful line-up of pipers and drummers, impressed with a sharp and energetic performance that stood out throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Breakthrough Victory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This success is particularly meaningful for Letterkenny. After finishing as runners-up in 2023, they qualified for the 2024 Ulster Fleadh but ultimately did not compete. Today\u2019s win demonstrates their determination and progress over the past two seasons, culminating in a well-deserved title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success in Grade 2B<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Letterkenny\u2019s momentum has been building all year, with notable performances and results in Grade 2B competitions earlier in the season. Their strong form in these events has helped prepare the band for the high standards of provincial and national contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facing Clonoe Independent at the All-Ireland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, the band will turn their attention to the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in August, where they will face Clonoe Independent Pipe Band\u2014the reigning champions who secured back-to-back All-Ireland titles in 2023 and 2024.
