St. Catherine\u2019s Band from Killybegs has made history by winning their first-ever All Ireland title, triumphing in the Senior Accordion section at the All Ireland Fleadh earlier today. This victory is not only a significant milestone for the band but also a historic moment for Donegal. It is the first time a Donegal band has won this senior accordion title since Fanad Accordion Band’s triumph in 1997. Since then, the title had been dominated by bands from counties Down, Armagh, Monaghan, and Meath, making St. Catherine\u2019s victory even more remarkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journey to this victory has been years in the making, reflecting the band’s dedication, perseverance, and growing expertise in Irish traditional music. Just a few weeks ago, St. Catherine\u2019s Band won their first-ever Ulster title, setting the stage for their success at the All Ireland Fleadh.
