Yesterday saw the first of the four qualifying provincial Fleadhs and it was Connacht up first. It’s not a traditional marching bands heartland with no entries in 2018 but this year saw two bands enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Senior Miscellaneous section Foxford Brass and Reed Band marched to victory. In a widely impressive performance the first time Connacht Champions have given the four Ulster Senior Miscellaneous bands a lot to be weary of. The Brass band were sharp in their routine although it may look very simple in comparison to more experienced bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Facebook statement the band said ‘The Band is going through to the All-Ireland Fleadh! We are Delighted’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In the Pipe Bands the Crimlin Batafada Band returned to the Fleadh to try and recreate their All Ireland win of 2012. Since that win they placed second in the 2015 All Ireland Fleadh so this year they’re now one step closer to reaching the coveted trophy after yesterday’s excellent performance. They currently have no qualified competitors but the St Joseph’s Pipe Band County Down are competing in Ulster on 28th of July and will more than likely make it though to the All Ireland.Thanks to our partners, you can find ties<\/a> online to suit every preference and budget, from budget to top-of-the-range super stylish models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On facebook the band said ‘Pipe Major Joe Mulligan with the winning Connaught Fleadh Pipe Band Championship Trophy this afternoon in Swinford\ud83c\udfc6. Next stop, Drogheda in August for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2019\ud83c\udfb5. Well done also to all our younger players who are playing a blinder on their first competition season sweeping the boards as they head to All-Ireland Fleadh!’ <\/p>
