The K and S Accordion Band secured their second consecutive Senior Accordion Leinster title in Wicklow Town, celebrating a significant victory. Despite their automatic qualification for this year’s All-Ireland due to last year’s win, their participation has raised questions about competition rules, as no other senior winner has been allowed to compete at the provincial level before. Leinster Comhaltas and Comhaltas have been approached for comment but have not yet responded.

Also competing were the St. Kevin’s Marching Band from Ferns, Enniscorthy. The Wexford natives, who had regularly competed in both Leinster and All-Ireland fleadhanna before the COVID-19 pandemic, continued their return with an impressive performance. This year, they secured first place in the Leinster Fleadh, earning their second consecutive qualification for the All-Ireland Fleadh after a successful showing in 2023 placing second.

St Kevin’s are the first band to qualify at provincial level for the All Ireland Fleadh joining the below Senior and Pipe band champions from 2023:

  • Maghery Fife and Drum Band, Donegal
  • K and S Accordion Band, Meath
  • Clonoe Independent Pipe Band, Tyrone
  • Cloughaneely Senior Band, Donegal
