Marching Bands Ireland Launches Fleadh Results Archive Spanning 70 years

Marching Bands Ireland is pleased to launch its new Fleadh Marching Band Results Archive, bringing together almost 70 years of marching band competition history in one searchable database.

The archive currently contains 705 results spanning from 1957 to 2025, allowing visitors to search by band, year, county or section while exploring the history of the All-Ireland and Ulster Fleadh competitions.

Whether you’re using a desktop computer or a mobile device, the archive has been designed to provide the best possible experience. Desktop users can browse the full searchable results table, while mobile users are presented with an easy-to-navigate card layout, allowing historical results to be searched quickly by band, year, county or section.

The Fleadh marching band competition has changed significantly since it was first introduced. When the inaugural competition took place in 1957, just two sections were contested – Marching Bands, now recognised within the archive as Senior Miscellaneous, and Pipe Bands.

In 1984, the competition expanded into the seven sections that remain today:

  • Pipe Bands
  • Junior Miscellaneous
  • Senior Miscellaneous
  • Junior Accordion
  • Senior Accordion
  • Junior Flute
  • Senior Flute

The archive brings these results together in one place, making it easier than ever to follow a band’s history, look back at previous champions and explore how the competition has evolved over the decades.

While the archive already contains more than 700 historical results, it remains an ongoing project. Additional records and corrections will continue to be added as further information becomes available, ensuring the archive continues to grow in the years ahead.

The archive also includes results from the 2026 Ulster Fleadh, with the 2026 All-Ireland Fleadh results to be added following this year’s competition. The archive will continue to be updated each year as new results become available with planned additions for Leinster, Munster and Connacht Fleadh results along with any county results.

Over the coming weeks, Marching Bands Ireland will also begin publishing historical features and statistical analysis based on the archive, highlighting notable achievements, championship records, winning streaks and other milestones from almost seven decades of competition.

If you notice an error or have historical information which could help improve the archive, we would be delighted to hear from you.
